Nantana - Thai Co-Worker
Many of you have been praying for us to get a Thai Co-Worker. To our surprise, we got an email from a friend in Bangkok saying that Ahjohn Nantana would be moving to Krabi. She has been married about 6 months and her husband is now working with the Presbyterian Church in town. She is a graduate of the Baptist Seminary in Bangkok. She is now a valuable asset to our work. Praise God for her work!
Nine Years Later
The following is exerted from the recent email of a former Journeygirl, who worked with us in the south many years ago:
"I am so excited. . . one of my former students in Thailand has decided to become a Christian! I just had to share. . she was one of the students that I was closest to, but she never seemed that interested in knowing more about Jesus or the Bible. She moved to the States a couple of years ago and we have kept in touch. I've also continued praying for her. . . She is studying the Bible with a friend, and I think she plans to join "Fellowship Church" next Sunday. She even has a Thai friend now who is also a Christian! This is just such a blessing and an encouragement. . . I didn't see any students come to Christ while in Thailand, but now, nine years after I first met Pique, she is becoming a Christian! I feel so glad that God used me to plant a seed. Others have helped to water it, and God made it grow! I hope this is an encouragement to those of you who may be praying for someone who isn't a Christian. . sometimes it takes a long time!! Please pray for Pique (sounds like "Bic") to grow in her new faith!
With joy,
Mandy
English for Police
We agreed on a date to start teaching English to Police in Blai Praya. We went to the station only to be told that they weren’t ready for us. We agreed on another day and we have been teaching them about how to deal with different situations in which police might need English with tourists. It has been fun getting to know them. Each week we display a Bible Verse and teach the meaning. Thai Christians have given their testimony about how they became a Christian. At the end of each class we give out Christian tracts, VCDs, and booklets, and sang Christian songs in English.
Prayer & Praise
1. Praise God for A. Nan-ta-na coming to work with us. Pray for us to work together well.
2. Pray that we will be able to start and sustain a strictly adult group at (Tung Pru village) Pru Thial, Khao Phanom.
3. We intend to teach English to Blai Praya police 2 more times. Pray that their hearts will be open to hear and receive God’s Word as truth for their lives.
4. Continue praying for Khun Lee, a Thai Muslim, who is studying the Bible with Richard. Pray for Lee to understand and accept God’s salvation through Jesus Christ.
5. Pray that the pastor and members of Krabi Baptist to understand the importance of evangelism in the growth of the church and be active in our ministry in the province.
6. Pray for more Bible studies to be started through us in Khao Phanom and Blai Praya. Pray especially for Khun Bia and neighbors to begin studying.
7.Pray for Thais to be touched by the Holy Spirit, believe in the work of Jesus and be discipled to be strong Christians.
