Trip to America

We had a wonderful and busy trip to help our daughter, Jamie, with her new baby, Natalie. We spent many pleasant minutes holding and caring for Natalie. We visited Richard’s father in Florida and made pictures for his Christmas mailing. It was good to have fellowship and help get him some extra special gifts including a dancing Santa Bear which sang "Santa Baby". We also saw the daughter of a missionary friend, who we had not seen in years.

Teaching in Tung Pru

God amazes us each week in Tung Pru with the Thais we teach, who are ready and waiting for us to come. Despite problems in understanding the stories of God, they still are glad that we come to teach. (To unbelievers who have never heard about God it is difficult to grasp the Christian message which is so strange and foreign to them.) The students are continually in competition to get the right answers to the questions that are asked. One of the students is a new mother, Pua and her husand, Moo, who we gave a Children’s Bible Story book in Thai and they have been reading it every night before bed. Pray that all those who come to the group will begin understanding God’s message of redemption.

Junior & Senior High School Programs

What a blessing!! Your prayers were answered, but not in ways that Richard and I thought. The two students from America couldn’t come for various reasons, even though one made it as far as Tokyo. A missionary from near Bangkok, two from Phuket and two more from Ao Nang in Krabi came to help. In addition, a Thai, who lives at Krabi Church played the guitar, and a mother and two of her college-age children helped out as translators & acted in the skit. We had fun with American Christmas traditions, the Christmas story, singing carols, giving testimonies, leading games and a performing a mime. Since not every one of the westerners came to all the schools, we adapted roles, as needed. Each student received a tract and some candy and each of the English teachers received a newspaper and a VCD about Christmas with the Gospel message in it. A Thai Bible was also given for each of the eight school libraries where we did programs. Teachers at all the schools appreciated our coming and the Gospel message was proclaimed.

Praise and Prayer Requests

1. Praise God that the group in Tung Pru continues to study with us.
2. Pray for both the adults and children in Tung Pru to understand the Bible lessons and become part of God’s family.
3. Pray that Kwan, Upa, and Buay will come to know God even though they have moved back to Na-corn-See-Tom-ma-rot (ending our seeker group in Blai Praya).
4. Praise God for those who helped us with Christmas programs in the junior & senior high schools.
5. Pray that God’s spirit will draw many (both teachers and students) who saw the school Christmas program to God.
6. Pray for workers to help us with Children’s Day on January 10th and much seed sowing with the books we hand out will bear fruit.
7. Pray for God to give us wisdom as we teach English to Blai Praya police, and give us many natural opportunities to proclaim the Gospel with them.
